A very rare calciphile and saxiphile species which was mentioned
in the flora of Romania only from Mehedinti and Trascau Mountains
(Cheile Turzii, Cluj county). This species is closely related
to and is easy to be mistaken for Hieracium bifidum
and Hieracium substellatum.
Cheile Valisoarei natural reservation area, on the right slope at
the border between the dense beech forests and the steep calcareous
cliffs, rare, 23rd of May 2010. The individuals below should be
checked especially because they have characters also from
Hieracium bifidum. Kit. ex Homem. Trascau
Mountains, Alba county.
The taxonomic status of the individuals in
the photographs below should be verified by a specialist of the
genus.
